Vegetation Plop

The vegetation plop is similar to the tumor plop, but occurs as a result of large vegetation from endocarditis.

Patient 1:

This was a middle-aged man who was admitted to the hospital with infective endocarditis of the tricuspid valve, with a large vegetation that measured 2.4 x 1.4 cm. There is an extra sound near S2 that was thought to be related to the large vegetation, a so-called “vegetation plop”.
