Osler’s Nodes

Tender erythematous or violaceous subcutaneous nodules on the thenar and hypothenar eminences and pulps of fingers and toes.
 

Patient 1:

This is a young man with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus endocarditis of the mitral valve.

Patient 2:

This is a patient with infective endocarditis.
