Punctate leukonychia

One or more small areas of white discoloration on the nail. Associated with trauma.
 

Patient 1:

This patient has punctate leukonychia for unclear reasons.

Patient 2:

This is a healthy middle-age patient who developed unilateral punctate leukonychia following a skiing accident in which he sustained trauma to the hand and fingernails.
