Synovitis
Rheumatoid arthritis causes inflammatory arthritis, characterized by erythema, pain, and edema of the involved joint on examination.
Patient 1:
This is a young man who developed oligoarticular inflammatory arthritis, conjunctivitis, and recurrent fever following a diarrheal illness, and was ultimately diagnosed with reactive arthritis.
