Sclerodactyly

Skin thickening and hardening,giving the skin a shiny appearance and leading to curling of the fingers with loss of mobility.

This is a middle-aged man with systemic sclerosis. His hands show skin thickening and hardening, giving the skin a shiny appearance and leading to curling of the fingers with loss of mobility. There is also evidence of digital skin pitting and poorly healing ulcerations.

This is an older woman with systemic sclerosis complicated by severe pulmonary hypertension. (findings include sclerodactyly, telangiectasias, calcium deposit, Kussmaul’s sign, and loud P2.)
